Covid19 Burnout – yes, it’s a thing!

Covid19 burnout! Is that a thing? I feel like it is but again no. Maybe I am just tired of hearing about it. Yes, Covid19 is a real thing, and yes! it is seriously dangerous and should be treated accordingly but, I’ve got it! I heard you the first time and the hundredth time and, probably by now, the millionth time.

I am being careful, I am working from home and limiting my “bubble” and I am wearing a face mask when I absolutely HAVE to go out. I am following the ‘rules’ to protect not just myself and my “bubble” but, ultimately, every other person in this city, or indeed this country.

Yes, I like to be informed and I want to keep up with what is happening with the numbers, and Yes we here in New Zealand are very fortunate in comparison with so many others but still … do I need to hear about this on every news broadcast? Has someone been asleep for the last six months and missed what is going on with the world?

Perhaps my “Covid19 Burnout” has been aggravated by the number of people who seem to think that ‘it won’t happen to them’ and so do not take the correct precautions as outlined by the professionals. They are the ones who annoy me; the possibility may be slight but still, they are putting others at risk, they are putting me at risk, and I am not happy about that either.

Honestly, maybe I am just ‘over it”! Time to move on world, let’s put this away in the pestilence box for the next century or so and move on to something much more fun – no, not global warming! Come on Mother Earth, there must be something good coming up, surely.
